Idemitsu Petroleum Norge (IPN) is a subsidiary of the Idemitsu group, one of Japan’s largest energy corporations.
We entered the Norwegian Continental Shelf (NCS) in 1989 by acquiring a stake in the Snorre field.

Our office is located in Oslo and we currently employ around 60 highly skilled and experienced professionals.

Idemitsu oil and gas discovery in the Barents Sea

Idemitsu is pleased to announce that its fifth Barents Sea well has resulted in the company’s fourth discovery in this increasingly important region.

IPN is currently partner in Fram, Snorre, Statfjord Øst, Sygna, Tordis, Vigdis and Vega. The Fram H-Nord and Knarr fields will come on-stream in 3rd quarter of 2014 and within 1Q 2015 respectively, bringing the total number of producing fields up to nine.
We are also participating in a number of discoveries currently being evaluated for development, among them the Astero, C-East and Peon discoveries.
