APA 2012 award to Idemitsu

The Ministry of Petroleum and Energy announced on 15 January 2013 that Idemitsu Petroleum Norge AS has been awarded a 20 % partner share in one Production License as part of the 2013 Awards in Pre-defined Areas.

The license (PL 686) is located in the Northern North Sea and comprises block 36/4. The license is located adjacent to, Idemitsu-operated PL 578 (Block 35/6; IPN 40 % share) in the west, and next to PL 636 (Block 36/7; IPN 30 % share) in the south.

“The APA 2012 award to Idemitsu is very welcome and consolidates our presence in one of our core areas, the Northern North Sea, where IPN commenced its so far more than 23 years’presence on the NCS. The award offers synergies with our important exploration and production portfolio in Quadrant 35. It is also an expression of our continuing and long-term commitment on the Norwegian Continental Shelf”, comments Idemitsu Petroleum Norge’s Managing Director Teruyuki Takahashi.
