22. januar 2018

Strenghtens our presence in one of our core areas.

On 16 June 2018, the Ministry of Petroleum and Energy (MPE) announced that Idemitsu Petroleum Norge AS (IPN) has been offered a 15 % share in production license PL 090 I as part of Awards in Pre-defined areas 2017 (APA 2017).

The license is located in block 31/2 in the northern North Sea, between the Fram field (IPN 15 %) and the Troll field.

“The APA 2017 award strengthens Idemitsu’s presence in one of our core areas in the North Sea. The 2016 Cara oil and gas discovery (IPN 30 %) clearly demonstrates that this important petroleum province still holds attractive resource potential waiting to be explored, developed and exploited. The APA 2017 award complements our existing license portfolio and fits well with Idemitsu’s strategy and long-term commitment to onward exploration on the Norwegian Continental Shelf”, says Idemitsu Petroleum Norge’s Managing Director Hiroshi Arikawa.

The licensees and shares in the license are as follows:

PL 090 I (Part block 31/2):

Statoil Petroleum AS (operator)

 45 %

ExxonMobil Exploration and Production Norway AS

 25 %

Idemitsu Petroleum Norge AS

 15 %

ENGIE E&P Norge AS
